No matter how young, how old, how messy, how fussy, how angry, or how active, you will always be loved and well cared for.
Our Infant & Toddler Program cares for children ages 6 weeks to 24 months and is geared toward helping each child reach their developmental milestones. Our infant care and toddler care encourage social play, singing, communication, reading picture books, fine and gross motor skills, movement, exploring objects, games, walking, and hand-eye coordination. Basic learning skills include self-help skills, potty training, sharing, and language development through the five senses. We inform parents daily of their child’s progress and work with each family to better meet their child’s needs. No matter how young, how old, how messy, how fussy, how angry, or how active, you will always be loved and well cared for.
Curriculum & Learning Activities
Our infant curriculum supports early childhood education and is designed to observe, understand, and celebrate children’s milestones. Our P I N method is a meaningful way to document and measure each child’s:
Individual accomplishments
Growth as an infant or toddler
Areas of difficulty
Approaches to learning
Temperament:
– How active is the child Kicking, crawling, climbing – Sleeping and eating habits – How does the child respond to people or new things? – Daily mood – Is the child easily distracted?
In assessing infants’ and toddlers’ development, our program focuses on three major components:
Observation Record: The caregiver observes and documents children’s everyday behaviors and provides data for evaluation using the P I N method.
Family Album: Our assessment portfolio provides a structure for our caregivers to learn about and record each child’s development.
Developmental Profile: This enables caregivers and other staff to evaluate each child’s development and progress over time, comparing their observations with specific developmental standards or milestones from birth to age 2.
The infant and toddler curriculum also focuses on fundamental skills that foster self-awareness, independence, and positive social skills to increase children’s ability to participate in a group. This takes place in a warm, safe, supportive environment with a balance of structured activities and free play indoors and outdoors. Children are introduced to art through hands-on, open-ended crafts designed to allow for exploration and creativity.
